Green Living Event

The Watershed Trust participated in the Nature League’s 2015 Green & Healthy Living festival this past September 12th and 13th. It was a successful event, raising awareness about health, the environment and sustainable living. Watershed Trust President Norm Wingrove, Ivan Chan, Don Kerr, Eric Willis and many other members manned the Watershed Trust booth, gave out brochures, had some good conversations and passed out membership forms. Carl Michener spoke about the Trust and our efforts, providing a short recap of our accomplishments over the past 20 years as well as a summary of our current conservation and lobbying activities.
The festival, which took place at the Collingwood Curling Club, raised over $5,000 for the Stayner Eco-Park, a joint Clearview Township and Stayner Collegiate initiative. The Park will preserve what has long been a birding hotspot, with over 123 bird species documented to date. Plans include building viewing platforms, interpretive signage and trail development.
