Watch spawning salmon on a self-guided nature hike
The centrepiece of the event is a 20-minute self-guided nature hike through the woods along Silver Creek. Adults and kids can stop to watch salmon climb the creek and learn more about fish spawning and riparian habitat at 4 locations where conservation experts from the local conservation authorities, Georgian Bay Forever and other organizations will be on hand to add to your knowledge of fish migration and to stamp kids’ fish ‘passports’.
Gourmet food, TONS of activities for kids
At See the Salmon Run you’ll find delicious food, local brews by the Collingwood Brewery and FREE food for kids. Elephant Thoughts and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority will be there with a huge inflatable salmon, interactive games and crafts for children.
